“The gift of life is in your drop.” says the transfusion team of KBC Rijeka, and we are extremely proud that we were able to equip a vehicle for the Clinical Institute for Transfusion Medicine.
According to their needs, the vehicle was upgraded in compliance with all legal regulations and rules, as evidenced by the vehicle certificate issued by CVH.
You can read more of the details of this upgrade below.
BASIC DATA ABOUT THE VEHICLE
Van Renalut Master L3H2, wheelbase 4,432 mm, is a category N1 vehicle.
This means that the vehicle is marked as a cargo vehicle whose mass must not weigh more than 3.5 t.
Despite the cargo space, the vehicle also has two rows of 2 seats in the passenger compartment, in addition to 2+1 seats in the vehicle cabin.
Ultimately, the vehicle is certified as a vehicle for transporting 6+1 passengers and goods in a thermally insulated space with temperature control.

PASSENGER AREA
The partition between the passenger and cargo space is placed at 1,820 mm from the beginning of the space behind the cabin, i.e. at the length of the side door.
In the passenger section, there are 4 separate M1 category seats, arranged in two rows.
The seats are attached to two supports (legs) and are equipped with 3-point seat belts.
They are of the same exceptional quality, which enables the institute to provide a pleasant transport for the transfusion team.
A 2kW air heater is installed under the passenger’s seat, controlled by the driver.
It is installed longitudinally in the direction of travel, with the exhaust facing the passenger compartment.
An additional evaporator (car air conditioner) is installed, which is passed through the roof of the cabin, also with an exhaust towards the passenger compartment.
CARGO AREA
The cargo space behind the rear passenger bench is lined with isothermal panels to create a space hermetically separated from the driver’s space and external influences.
The panels on the front and roof are 65 mm thick, on the sides 85 mm, on the floor 95 mm, while on the rear door the panel thickness is 180 mm.
The internal dimensions of the thermally insulated cargo space are 1,700 x 1,580 x 1,740 mm, and the volume after the upgrade is 4.67m³.
A Daikin Z250 cooling device is also installed in the said thermally insulated space, and it is powered by the vehicle’s engine.
There is a unit for cooling the space in the cargo area, while there is a condenser on the roof of the vehicle.
The display for setting the temperature is located in the driver’s cabin.
In order for the cooling device to work independently of the engine, a 220V electric stand-by drive integrated in the roof unit is provided.
Equally, the temperature in the cargo area for such a sensitive job performed by the Clinical Institute for Transfusion Medicine should be monitored 24/7.
This is precisely why a Carrier data logger is installed, which records the temperature in the driver’s cabin.
