Sometimes you’re unsure whether a cargo or passenger van is more suitable for your business.
You’re weighing between a large cargo space with fewer seats or practically no cargo space but plenty of seating.
With MultiPartner, you can have a compromise solution – an additional row of seats!
WHY ADD AN ADDITIONAL ROW OF SEATS?
Adding an extra row of seats is a particularly attractive option for the construction sector and trade services.
It offers long-term savings on fuel, time, and fleet maintenance by eliminating the need to transport workers and equipment separately.
Depending on the vehicle’s configuration, this upgrade allows transport of up to 6 passengers plus the driver, while maintaining a fully functional cargo area.
Such a modification requires vehicle inspection (certification), but does not require national homologation.
Finally, when the time comes to sell the vehicle, an additional row of seats will definitely increase its market value!

THE UPGRADE PROCES
The process of installing an additional row of seats in a vehicle requires careful planning and execution according to technical and safety standards.
This upgrade is often carried out on smaller cargo vehicles that are being adapted for passenger transport.
Below is a standard procedure for installing an additional row of seats, presented in chronological phases.
The first step is to remove the existing partition located directly behind the front row of seats.
This partition typically separates the driver’s cabin from the cargo area, and its removal allows for the expansion of the passenger compartment.
After removing the partition, the side and roof panels are installed in the area that will serve as the new passenger space.
These panels are made from specialized materials that meet safety and aesthetic standards and provide a more comfortable passenger environment.
The third phase involves installing windows on the sliding side door and the opposite side panel, if the vehicle is not already factory-fitted with glazing.
Once the area is prepared, three or four individual fixed seats are installed, depending on the vehicle’s width.
The seats must be homologated for use in M1/N1 category vehicles and properly secured to the floor in accordance with industry regulations.
The final step includes fabricating and upholstering a new partition behind the second row of seats.
This partition separates the newly formed passenger area from the remaining cargo space, serving both as a safety feature and a finishing touch that enhances the vehicle’s interior appearance.
