Thermo – isolation refrigerated box is the largest segment of our MultiFrigo program.
This is an upgrade for clients who transport perishable food items like fish, cheese, meat, and other goods.
In the following blog post, we will explain the process from the inquiry to the implementation of this part of our company’s business.
INQUIRIES AND OFFERS FOR UPGRADES
To begin with, it is important to know that for this type of upgrade, there is no standard template for preparing an offer.
When submitting an inquiry, it is important to provide several details that will help us as the supplier to prepare the offer:
-
What is the wheelbase of the base vehicle?
-
What is the desired length of the box (though this may not always be realistically feasible)?
-
What type of goods are planned to be transported in the refrigerated box?
-
Will the goods be transported across national borders (international transport)?
Once we have this information, it becomes easier to understand your expectations and needs for the requested refrigerated box.
Using the TrailerWin system, we can also provide a 2D visual representation of the refrigerated chamber’s appearance after installation, which is also attached to the offer.
There are situations where the client requires a cold storage box with two different temperature regimes, as in this case, but let’s focus on a simpler example.

REALIZATION OF REFRIGERATED BOX UPGRADES – COLD STORAGE UNIT
After preparing the offer, making any necessary corrections (alignments), and confirming the order with an advance payment, we proceed with the delivery of equipment.
The cold storage unit, which will be mounted on the chassis, is usually made from so-called “sandwich” panels in RAL white (9016).
The panels are typically between 60 and 90 mm thick, with the front panel reinforced for the installation of the refrigeration unit.
The floor of the cold storage is slightly thicker (around 110 mm) with internal reinforcement and a “top finish” as agreed with the client.
Drains for wastewater on the floor and a container for it will generally always be included in the offer.
The rear panels are made with a stainless steel frame for the door, and double-wing doors with PVC seals and stainless steel hinges.
Throughout the interior of the cold storage, protection from pallet impacts is installed to a specified height.
Once the cold storage unit is mounted, we move on to the installation and connection of the refrigeration unit.
We offer this according to the volume of the box to ensure continuous maintenance of the desired temperature regime.
Additionally, the offer usually includes a unit with a standby option, meaning a 220V drive when the vehicle is idle.
The price of the upgrade includes the supply and installation of the necessary equipment as well as vehicle testing at CVH (certification).
We can also offer clients various additional options, such as:
-
Steps on the side and/or rear doors for easier entry
-
ATP certificate for international transport
-
Roof spoiler above the vehicle cabin
-
Air suspension
-
Data logger – thermoprinter
-
And more
