In this special-purpose vehicle upgrade, we present a solution for group transportation of people with disabilities. The capacity of the upgraded vehicle is now 8 passengers, plus the driver, and the vehicle can be operated with a Category B driver’s license.
The design features 6 easy-to-remove seats, providing flexibility in adjusting the layout to meet the unique needs of each passenger. Each seat secures firmly to floor rails that also double as an anchoring system for individuals with disabilities.
In this solution, the upgraded vehicle can securely transport up to 3 wheelchair-bound individuals, each equipped with a 3-point belt system for added safety in accordance with the new regulations.
To ensure optimal passenger comfort, the vehicle was equipped with an additional evaporator to allow distribution of cool air to all passengers, and an independent air heating system. This means you can pre-warm the vehicle before passengers board, creating a cozy atmosphere even in cold weather.
Effortless access is achieved through an electro-hydraulic ramp installed at the rear door and capable of supporting up to 350 kg. This sturdy design can easily lift even the heaviest of motorized wheelchairs, along with an accompanying person.
We’ve also installed an electro-mechanical step at the side door, synched to the door’s opening for a smoother entry for people with reduced mobility. Additional LED lighting illuminates the entire space, providing excellent visibility, day or night.
The upgrade comes as part of our MultiMobilty program – the mobility center for people with disabilities.
